I choose the issue of Rhino Poaching as the subject for my poster. I stumbled across this site and topic while surfing the internet on a totally different subject and I have been haunted ever since. The pictures on the website links below are very disturbing. I had no idea that rhinos were subjected to such cruelty.

These are the steps I took to create my poster:
I used the Polygonal lasso tool to cut out the picture of the rhino horn
I used the magic wand to cut out the picture of Africa
I used the paint brush on Africa and the horn
Also the smudge tool on the horn and blood effect
Lastly text

This course is difficult for me online because I am a visual learner. Although there is so much help via Youtube and the internet I think I would have done better in an “in class” setting.

    I thought your poster was amazing. I thought it was simple and easy to understand as well as effective in your choice of merging the Rhino horn within the depiction of Africa. I also thought the font went well with the poster.

    I too am a visual learner and have had difficulty learning outside the classroom setting on this one. It never occurred to me to look at You Tube videos.

    I really like this poster. Really simple and easy to understand. I am also struggling to learn the photoshop on my own. I have used some of the tutorials but mostly I have to just try it out and that takes HOURS!
